In one of the more intriguing transfer moves, Araya Dennis has swapped North London for the South Coast, having joined Barclay’s Women’s Championship side Southampton on loan for the remainder of the 2024/2025 Season.
Dennis has been given game time at Spurs this term, after joining the club permanently last summer from Crystal Palace. It was at this very club she scored her first Spurs goal against in a 2-0 League Cup Win in mid December.
This is Dennis’ third loan spell of a fledgling career, having previously spent time with Watford and Crystal Palace on dual registrations and loans, where she achieved promotions at both of those clubs.
Speaking to Southampton on her loan, Dennis said:
"I’m really excited to be here and get some minutes in for the rest of the season.”
It’s been really good [moving to Spurs], being around the girls for the past couple of months and learning off of them every day, they’re all experienced players. Hopefully all the learning I’ve taken I can bring here.”
Women's Head Coach Remi Allen added:
“We’re delighted to add Araya to the group; she's already gained experience at this level despite her young age and will bring some extra energy to us.
“She’s been in promoted squads before and learnt a lot as part of a WSL side this season, which we hope will help her hit the ground running for the rest of the year.”
