Twin Telepathy helped Everton secure a point at the Joie Stadium on Sunday Afternoon against Manchester City in the WSL. The stadium was renamed to “The City in the Community Joie Stadium” celebrating their charity throughout the event on the day and the week prior.
Both sides started the first half slowly with no chances coming until the 10th minute where Manchester City came close after a cross from Kerstin Casparij. Manchester City continued strong against the Toffees with chances from Jess Park and Yui Hasegawa but both saw the hands of Emily Ramsey in the Everton net.
Just under the 15 minute mark, Manchester City got the opener from Kerstin Casparij and held up Mary Fowler’s shirt after her ACL injury confirmation. The ball came from Kerolin Nicoli initially with youngster Lily Murphy getting the final assist inside the 6-yard box.
Both sides continued to provide chances, with City having the majority of the efforts from Yui Hasegawa and Jess Park again but nothing came from either. Since the opener from City, Everton piled on the pressure and managed to find the equaliser with 33 minutes on the clock.
Twin Telepathy came to play as Karen Holmgaard read Sara Holmgaard’s cross well and headed the ball into the bottom left corner to get her first league goal of the season. Both sides continued to play chances up until the half time whistle with chances from Manchester City’s Jess Park, Lily Murphy and Rebecca Knaak but Emily Ramsey did well to keep her side in it.
Half-time: Manchester City 1-1 Everton

There was a slow start from both teams with only a couple of chances coming either end for the opening 30 minutes. Leila Ouahabi found a cross into the box but found no light blue shirt with Kerolin coming close to goal with the referee giving a goal kick. Slow play continued throughout the second half with no chances coming from either blue.
Two chances from City came in quick succession at the 77 minute mark after defenders got their heads to it. The first one came from Yui Hasegawa as she whipped it in from the left side from range and found the heads of both Laia Aleixandri and Kerstin Casparij but failed to find the back of the net. The next one came from Kerolin Nicoli from around 16 yards out but fired it over the bar with that being the last chance for both sides.
