Charlton Athletic 2-0 Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn started the game strongly, creating a couple of set-piece chances, but failed to find the net.

In the 20th minute, Charlton earned a corner, taken by Jodie Hutton. The ball was sent to the far post, where Gracie Pearse headed it into the net, giving Charlton a 1-0 lead.

Ellie Brazil had a clear opportunity to score, beating the last defender and shooting first-time into the bottom corner. However, the goal was ruled offside, keeping the score at 1-0.

Just before halftime, Emma Taylor handled the ball just outside the box, giving Charlton a free-kick. Jodie Hutton took the free-kick and curled it into the top left corner, beyond the reach of Alexandra Brooks. Taking the lead, it was 2-0 to the Addicks.

At halftime, Charlton made their first substitution, with Elisha N’Dow replaced by Kayleigh Barton.

The second half saw limited chances for both sides, including a Tia Primmer effort for Blackburn, a Lucy Newell free-kick, and a one-on-one opportunity for Jodie Hutton, which was blocked by Alexandra Brooks.

Ellie Brazil received the ball in a tight space and attempted scuffed a shot towards the right corner. Although caught off guard, Alexandra Brooks dived to collect the ball, maintaining the score.

In the 70th minute, Charlton made a substitution, and Blackburn made a double substitution. Melissa Filis was replaced by Mary Bashford, Georgia Walters by Ellie Noble, and Chloe Williams by Farah Crompton.

From the edge of the box, Karin Muya fired a shot that rattled the crossbar and bounced down. Players from both sides scrambled for the rebound, but Rovers cleared the danger.

Substitutions followed for both Charlton and Blackburn, with Karin Muya replaced by Gloria Siber and Rachel Dugdale by Maria Edwards.

Gloria Siber played a through ball to Kayleigh Barton, who slotted the ball past Brooks into the bottom right corner, celebrating by shushing the crowd. With little time remaining, it was 3-0 to the home side.

In added time, Charlton made a double substitution, with Greta Humphries and Janis Chime replacing Emma Bissell and Ellie Brazil.

Late in extra time, Tyler Toland broke through the defense and scored a consolation goal for Blackburn. However, Charlton had already done enough, and the final score at The Valley was 3-1 to the Addicks.
